How We Rate Casinos

Most casino review sites publish a score out of five for every operator they list. Almost none of them tell you how the number was reached, and a lot of them are simply ranking by commission.

Our approach is the opposite, and it has an awkward consequence we would rather state up front: most of our pages do not carry a score yet.

The six criteria

Criterion Weight What it measures
Payouts 25 How long a withdrawal actually took when we made one, not what the operator advertises.
Bonus terms 20 Wagering multiple, time limit, maximum cashout and game exclusions, read in full.
Games 15 Library size and quality, studio range, jackpot coverage, live room.
Support 15 Channels, hours, and whether a real person answers.
Safety 15 Licence verified on the register, plus the safer gambling tools actually offered.
Irish fit 10 Euro accounts, Irish payment methods, GAA and Irish racing coverage.

The weights add to 100. Payouts carry the most because getting paid is the part that matters most and the part most often glossed over.

No score until every mark is filled

A score only appears once all six criteria have been marked. We do not average what we have and call it a rating, and we do not fill a gap with an estimate.

The practical effect is that an operator stays unscored until we have timed a withdrawal from it. That is slow, and it is why most pages on this site currently say no score yet rather than carrying a number.

Payout times are measured, not copied

Where a page shows a withdrawal time taken from the operator, it is labelled as stated or advertised. A measured figure appears only after we have deposited, played, requested a withdrawal and timed it, and it is published with the date, the method used and how many tests we ran.

An advertised payout time and a measured one are different things, and we will never present one as the other.

Licence verification gates everything

No outbound link appears on a page until the operator licence has been confirmed on the issuing regulator own register. See our licensing page for why that matters more in Ireland than elsewhere.

What would change a score

Scores are not permanent. A withdrawal that takes longer than our last measurement, a change in bonus terms, a licence lapsing, or a run of support failures will all move a score, and we will say what moved and when.
